Thanks to Barnes & Noble offering a storytime with “The Polar Express”, we decided to do “The Minivan Express” night tonight!
We started off with a make your own pizza night:
Getting ready for the ride, we used our Plastic Cup Rudolf craft to hold the popcorn, and I did opt for hot chocolate, but don’t be afraid, I put sippy cup lids on them LOL!:
We hid the tickets in the kids beds and listened as they all screamed with excitement that they’d found golden tickets!
Getting tickets punched to board “The Minivan Express”: (Please overlook the insanely dirty Minivan Express! This is a real live working minivan, its not just for show people!)
We showed up for the story time and found that they’d asked two children’s authors to read the story for us. They gave all the kids little silver bells to ring each time they turned the page, it was a lot of fun!
Afterward we went driving around looking at lights and singing Christmas Carols in the car. I think overall the night was a success!
How awesome! What great memories!! I can't wait to do this with my kids.
what a great night and memories!!!
What a fantastic night! That sounds like so much fun!
Oh what excitement! I love the way you did this with your kids!
Oh that sounds like fun! I miss those days when the chitlins were young-only have my 8 year old left to spoil (my 15 year old would have rolled her eyes-now if I had given her tickets to a concert she wanted to go to that would have been a totally different story! LOL)Very sweet.
I really need to dig up my copy of that book. We just watched the movie together yesterday.
I am so glad that you got to go to B&N; Friday evening. Yeah! Sounds like a splendid evening. I was hoping to have made it ourselves, but I haven't been able to squeeze one more thing into our crammed weekend. Have a very Merry Christmas.~Wendi
What a fun night. Can't wait to do this with my kids, they'll love your tickets!
I love this minivan express idea!!
I’m curious to find out what blog platform you are working with? I’m experiencing some small security problems with my latest site and I would like
to find something more safe. Do you have any suggestions?
