Make this fun Christmas Window Hanging!
Supplies:
- Crayon Shavings, I suggest lighter colors like yellow, orange, red, pink. Darker ones tend to get ‘muddy’
- Wax paper cut to approx. 6″ x 9″ (you’ll need 2 sheets per student)
- Construction Paper for frame
- Yarn and Hole Punch
- Iron and Newspaper
Instructions:
- Put 1 sheet of wax paper down and spread crayon shavings all over.
- Cut out the Letters “JESUS” from black construction paper, and place in center. (You could also use a cross, dove, Christmas star, or any other symbol of Jesus you prefer.)
- Put 2nd sheet of wax paper on top and sandwich the two pieces between newspaper. Iron on low heat until crayon melts.
- Fold construction paper in half and cut out any shape you like from the center.
- Sandwich the ironed wax paper between the construction paper and glue the edges.
- Hole punch and tie with yarn to hang from window and enjoy!
- You can also write a verse on the construction paper to remind you that Jesus is the reason for the season!
I thought I'd share this, it doesn't necessarily belong on this post but this was your last posting and I just thought I'd share this because it was cute and FREE and Christmasy, and I wanted to pass it along! 🙂 http://www.tiny.cc/vVaCv
That's cute thanks for sharing
I just wanted to thank you for this beautiful idea ~ I think we'll do a version of this today.I've been following your blog for a few weeks but haven't commented yet. Thank you for all of the inspiration!
I love this idea!!
I stumbled on your blog searching for ideas for my Sunday School class. This idea is so good. Thank you for sharing.I was a homeschool mom too; my two sons are now men and at age 46 I've just finished my degree and started working outside the home Monday the December 14th. We made money sacrifices, and time sacrifices, and sometimes I think I even sacrificed my sanity! But with God's help we homeschooled and I was home with my boys. And oh! I am SOOOOO glad I did!You go little Mommy. Be strong, be encouraged. You are doing a good thing. If I am allowed many years to come on earth I will have plenty of time to do the career thing. If my time is cut short, then I will be that much more glad that with what time I did have I lavished it on my family.
Thank you so much for your encouragement! I LOVE hearing from mom's who have been through the trenches and can verify that our time spent is worth it, especially when the day to day grind can get rough! Thanks so much!
I must have done something wrong. We just tried this and the crayons melted over the letters so you can’t see them at all. Maybe we used too much crayon?
